Montevideo

The tango show at the famous Cafe Tortoni was brilliant, particularly with front row seats.

The next day we caught a Ferry to Colonia, Uruguay. From there we caught a bus through the countryside into Montevideo. The area around the bus terminal upon arrival is a dump and we both thought we'd made a big mistake coming to Uruguay. However, when we got into town, Montevideo was a great place - lots of cool monuments, awesome buildings, interesting arts district, etc. We went for lunch down by the port and had a delicious traditional Uruguaian barbeque. Later on we went to another tango/folk dance/culture show. Other than the fact that there was about 10 other people attending the show was really good. Tomorrow we got to Pumts del Este.
